- Sunday, November 19th. We took a sightseeing bus tour of the city on a doubledecker. Umbrella store near Russell Square.

- It had been raining off and on that morning, but by 1 p.m. or so the clouds were blowing away and the sun was able to make it through. Gleaming Big Ben Tower with London Eye beyond.

- On Monday we set out across Russell Square toward the British Museum, just catty-corner across the park.
- Colossal lion Temple of Ishtar, Assyria c.865 BC. Archaeologists of the Empire thought nothing of crating up multi-ton chunks like this and bringing 'em home.

- There were whole galleries full of Egyptian monumental stone figures. This red granite head is of an unidentified Pharaoh, probably Amenhotep III. It's 9'6" tall, from Temple of Mut, Thebes.

- On Tuesday we set out for St. Paul's and the Museum of London. Clandestine St. Paul's Cathedral shot. Another, straight up. Victoria and inscription.

- There was a large exhibit of life in Roman London at the Museum of London. Recreation of kitchen. Schoolkids everywhere! How the better off lived.

- On Wednesday we journeyed to Knightsbridge to the Victoria & Albert Museum.

- On Thanksgiving we headed out of London by train NW to Banbury. From there, by cab, we got to Wroxton. Our room. Great Hall.

- On Friday we went to Stratford-Upon-Avon. Kurt in front of Shakespeare's birthplace. Victoria was showing me around.

- On Saturday we returned to London and back out to the NE suburbs. We stayed with Piggo and Sooz near Epping.
- On Sunday the four of us went to Canterbury and entered its narrow streets.

- On Monday we headed back to London, got into our new hotel, and headed to Covent Garden for shopping and supper.
- At Rules I had my first "classic" English roast beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding and etc. It was delicious!
